Yoga in Saffron Walden
Rooted in Nature, Open to All.
Every class at Isobel's Yoga is thoughtfully put together. Carefully sequenced, clearly taught, and paced so that you actually have time to feel into what you're doing, not rush through it.
Whether you're finding your feet in your first downward dog or deepening a practice you've had for years, the focus is always the same: presence over performance. There's no showing off here, and no expectation to get anything right. Just good instruction, and an hour of your time devoted to yourself and your movement.
A private session is yoga built entirely around you. Your level, your body, your goals — whether that's building a home practice, working through a specific challenge, or simply having the space to go at your own pace without a group around you. 1-1 sessions are also a perfect way to begin if you're nervous about joining a class, giving you the confidence and foundations to step into a group setting whenever you are ready.
Sessions can be held at a location that suits you. Contact us via email or instagram to book.
Vinyasa is movement as meditation. Poses flow into one another in sequence, linked by breath: so rather than holding a position and waiting to move on, you're constantly in gentle motion. It builds heat, strength and focus, and by the end of a session you'll feel physically worked but mentally calm. A good vinyasa class should feel less like exercise and more like something you can't quite describe but definitely want to do again.
All levels welcome — modifications always offered.
If vinyasa is a flowing river, hatha is a calm lake. Slower, more considered, with time to settle into each pose and really feel what it's doing. The purpose of Hatha is to balance the sun and the moon, the yin and yang, each of us have within us. Hatha builds awareness of your own body, improving flexibility, and finding a quality of stillness that's increasingly rare in our busy world. It is said to be the foundation of all yoga — a good hatha class leaves you feeling deeply restored rather than depleted.
Particularly good for beginners, though experienced practitioners often find it the most challenging of all.
